CHICAGO, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Aladdin Knowledge Systems (Nasdaq: ALDN),
a global leader in the field of Internet content and software security, today
announced that PC Guardian ( http://www.pcguardian.com ), a leading provider
of information security products, chose Aladdin's USB-based eToken to provide
users of Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise with strong, portable user
authentication and access control.
Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise is a Windows-based program that
protects data in user- and administrator-defined folders and subfolders. The
program uses the Blowfish cryptographic algorithm and a 192-bit encryption key
and supports numerous PKI Solutions.
As a member of the eToken Solution Partner Program, PC Guardian adds
valuable authentication capabilities to Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise.
Aladdin's key-sized eToken provides powerful two-factor authentication. This
means that in addition to individual passwords administrators can require
Encryption Plus(R) Folders' users to plug an eToken into their computers' USB
ports in order to access and decrypt data in specified folders.
"Our partnership with PC Guardian, one of the leading providers of
computer security products for enterprises, clearly illustrates the growing
market need for combined eToken-based authentication," said Leedor Agam, Vice
President of eBusiness and eToken Solutions at Aladdin Knowledge Systems.
"Working with the Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise, eToken offers strong
two-factor authentication for PC Guardian's customers."
"The need for simple and secure methods of authenticating users is on the
rise, especially among global enterprises with millions of dollars in
information assets at stake," says PC Guardian's President Noah Groth.
"Aladdin's eToken technology fits this growing need, and cost-effectively
complements our data encryption technology. We are very excited about this
partnership, and we are confident our users will be, too."
About eToken
eToken, a USB device about the size of a normal house key, is now widely
accepted as the ultimate device for securing your networks and e-Business
needs. It offers a fully portable and cost-effective means to authenticate
users and to digitally sign sensitive business transactions.
Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, eToken PRO offers advanced
Smartcard functionality with robust onboard cryptographic processors such as
1024-bit RSA, 3xDES, SHA1 and MD5. eToken PRO offers an unmatched level of
physical and logical protection with its ITSEC LE4 Smartcard chip security
accreditation. With its onboard 1024-bit RSA processor, eToken PRO is the
ideal solution for PKI-enabled applications because all sensitive operations
and signing, including PKI key generation, can be done in the secure
environment on the token itself away from the hostile environment of the PC.
eToken R2 offers simple yet robust 120-bit DESX onboard security
functionality as its underlying technology. It offers both 2-factor
authentication and full support for PKI applications through its ability to
securely store private keys and digital certificates. Both the eToken PRO and
the eToken R2 offer enhanced physical features in their newly designed
one-piece plastic housing, providing an unmatched tamper-evident and
water-resistant container.
Support for open, non-proprietary security standards such as Microsoft
CAPI and PKCS11, makes integration with security applications quick and
smooth. eToken's innovative Enterprise solution set also offers an
out-of-the-box plug-and-play connectivity for various security clients.
Securing your networks and eBusiness applications has never been this easy and
intuitive.
Participation in the eToken Solution Partner Program offers streamlined

About Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise
Encryption Plus(R) Folders Enterprise delivers automatic on-the-fly
encryption of data in user- and administrator-specified folders and
subfolders. It runs on Windows 9x/NT, and 2000. The Enterprise version
includes several advanced security options, including tools for managing
password length and expiration, a time-activated keyboard and screen lock for
access control, and full key recovery. Further, the Enterprise version allows
administrators to distribute and service the software on users' machines
remotely from a central server.
Encryption Plus Folders operates transparently and does not require users
to change the way they work. Upon installation, users select their own
passwords, which they must enter correctly before Encryption Plus Folders will
permit them access to data stored in protected folders on hard disks or
removable media. Users can activate Folders easily from either their system
tray or the Windows Start menu. If they do not enter the correct password, the
data files stored in the protected folders will remain encrypted.
Because users frequently forget passwords, Encryption Plus Folders
includes PC Guardian's Authenti-Check(TM) technology, which automatically
activates when users fail to enter the correct password after three
consecutive attempts. Authenti-Check allows these users to authenticate
themselves through a series of questions and answers. When users answer these
questions correctly, Authenti-Check presents them with their Encryption Plus
Folders' password.
Encryption Plus(R) Folders uses the well-documented Blowfish algorithm, a
fast symmetric cipher, and protects data with a 192-bit encryption key. In
addition, users' passwords are protected using RSA's 1024-bit public-private
key algorithm. Encryption Plus Folders is part of PC Guardian's growing family
of data protection software, which includes programs that can encrypt an
entire hard disk, email messages, or data distributed via CD-ROM.
The company's latest addition to the Encryption Plus family includes
Encryption Plus Secure Password Recovery, which significantly reduces
enterprise Help Desk workload by leveraging an advanced version of Authenti-
Check to help users protect and recover forgotten NT/2000 login passwords.
