Pearson Scott Foresman's California History-Social Science A Finalist for Three 2007 Awards From Association of Educational Publishers

Innovative Program up for Golden Lamp, Distinguished Achievement, and
                               Beacon Awards

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Pearson Scott
Foresman's California History-Social Science has been named as a 2007
finalist by the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) for three
esteemed awards: the Golden Lamp Award for Instructional Materials, the
Distinguished Achievement Award in the Curriculum category, and the Beacon
Award for Excellence in Education Marketing in the Integrated Marketing
Campaign category.
Pearson Scott Foresman California History-Social Science is a
standards- driven, interactive program written specifically for California.
Three instructional paths -- text, digital, activities -- make this program
come to life for the fifty percent of all K-5 students in California that
are currently using it to learn history/social studies. The program
includes engaging introductions; videos to build background; audio-enabled
student text; interactive practice; and assessment.
The AEP's Golden Lamp Award is one of the most prestigious awards
within the field of educational publishing. The Instructional Materials
category includes curriculum products or programs designed for use in the
classroom, home-school, or distance learning environments, and nominees are
judged on content, design, and the fulfillment of their educational
mission.
The Distinguished Achievement Awards recognize the best educational
materials -- such as books, periodicals, educational toys, and software --
within subject categories and by audience. The Beacon Awards recognize
marketing pieces produced for the education market.
The 2007 AEP Awards will be presented on June 12 at the 2007 Annual
Award Banquet & Gala at the Renaissance Washington D.C. Hotel.
