Gateway, Inc. announced today that it has appointed Deloitte & Touche LLP to
serve as its independent auditor.

Gateway announced last month that it was in negotiations to appoint a new
independent auditor, following PricewaterhouseCoopers' (PwC's) decision not to
stand for re-appointment. As previously stated, there were no disagreements
between Gateway and PwC on any matter of accounting principles or practices,
financial statement disclosure, or auditing scope or procedure.
