NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- ARCO Chemical Company
(NYSE: RCM) announced today that net income for the first quarter 1998 will
exceed the consensus estimate by more than 35%. The Company attributes the
significantly higher earnings to better-than-expected business results for
March, including stronger core products volume and lower raw material and
other costs.
The Company will announce earnings for the first quarter at 8:30 a.m., EDT
on April 21, 1998. A conference call has been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. the
same day and will be hosted by Sami Ahmad, Manager, Investor Relations. Also
participating in the call will be Walter J. Tusinski, Sr. Vice President and
Chief Financial Officer.
