Abgenix Names Dr. Steven Chamow Vice President of Process Sciences

    FREMONT, Calif., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Abgenix, Inc. (Nasdaq: ABGX) has
hired Steven Chamow, Ph.D., as Vice President of Process Sciences. Dr. Chamow,
a biochemist with extensive industry experience in biopharmaceutical
development, will be responsible for building and leading process science
groups at Abgenix. Most recently, Dr. Chamow was Director, Biopharmaceutical
Development of Scios, Inc. Prior to Scios, Dr. Chamow spent eleven years in
product development at Genentech, Inc.

development and is experienced with the critical interface between research
