Anscott Continues Successful Roll-Out of Shell Chemical's Alternative Dry Cleaning Solvent, Throughout Its National Distribution Network

    WAYNE, N.J., April 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Anscott Industries, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: ASCT) today announced that it has seen marked success for
its new product, Hydroclene(TM) Cleaning Solvent. Hydroclene, available
exclusively through Anscott's U.S. and Canadian distribution channel, began
its industry roll-out last month. "The first forty days of selling have seen
a 100% reception. All of the distributors we've introduced to the product
have come on board," said Jeffrey Battiston, Anscott's Product-line Manager.
"Hydroclene is on pace to double Anscott's sales volume. Anscott's 40 plus
years of experience in chemical manufacturing and distribution, along with a
superior field service force will continue to be the keys to the Hydroclene
success."
Hydroclene is an environmentally friendly replacement for today's
traditional dry cleaning solvent called Perc (perchloroethylene). The
industry currently uses over 40 million pounds of Perc cleaning solvent per
year. Over the past few years, Perc has come under increased regulatory
pressure. Many states around the U.S. have begun taxing Perc solvent up to
$15 dollars per gallon and California has taken the lead, eliminating the use
of Perc. Anscott believes that today's regulations and financial pressures
will encourage over 30,000 end-users into switching from Perc to an
environmentally friendly solvent, such as Hydroclene.
Hydroclene is a hydrocarbon cleaner that has been specially formulated for
dry cleaners. The Hydroclene cleaning solvent is made with proven technology
from Shell(R) Chemical, the 11th largest chemical company in the U.S. "We
plan on being one of Shells best outlets for cleaning products like
Hydroclene. Anscott is preparing to impact the textile cleaning industry with
Hydroclene and other perc alternatives while delivering needed performance",
said Jack Belluscio, President of Anscott. He continues, "The roll-out has
gone faster than expected, while the industry has used the same solvent for
over forty years, we believe that Hydroclene is now in position as a next
generation solvent, replacing the 30,000 perc dry cleaning machines being used
today. Hydroclene is currently available throughout the eastern seaboard of
the US, along with Texas and Southern California."
In addition to Hydroclene, Anscott has invested millions of dollars into
developing future dry cleaning solutions. The futuristic technology uses
liquid CO2, the bubbles in soda, to clean clothes. Anscott continues expanding
its product offering within its distribution channel and end-user base with
several environmentally friendly cleaning solvents. By providing several
alternative-cleaning solvents the Company continues to gain market share as a
manufacturer of soap and other detergents in the $17.7 billion dollar
industry.
"We have been investing in new cleaning technology for some time and are
now in position to considerably increase customer satisfaction and shareholder
value," says Belluscio. He further states, "We believe Hydroclene and the CO2
technology will play a significant roll in the immediate future of the dry
cleaning industry."
