IABC/Detroit Invites Business Communicators to Learn Media Relations Strategies During Crisis at April 28 Teleseminar at ArvinMeritor in Troy

DETROIT, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- In media relations, one of the most
challenging situations anyone can face is when 60 Minutes or your local
investigative news team calls and says, "We're doing a story about you."
With this in mind, the Detroit chapter of the International Association of
Business Communicators (IABC/Detroit) has announced a Wednesday, April 28
professional development teleseminar featuring one of North America's most
innovative media strategists.
Participants will join with IABC members from around the world in focusing
on how to develop media relations strategies during crisis. The one-and-half-
hour teleseminar will begin at noon at ArvinMeritor, 2135 West Maple Road in
Troy and is open to non-members. The teleseminar leader, James E.
Lukaszewski, ABC, APR, fellow PRSA, will discuss organizing a crisis
communication team, keeping on script, better managing interviews and working
with the media.
"Accredited by both IABC and the Public Relations Society of America,
James Lukaszewski has extensive crisis and media relations experience, and he
has already helped many companies around the world," said Cindy Orlandi, APR,
president of IABC/Detroit and principal of Cyndosura.
"We are delighted that ArvinMeritor has sponsored this IABC/Detroit
meeting and enabled us to offer this valuable IABC educational opportunity at
a significant savings," Orlandi added. "You are invited to join us and 'See
What's in IABC/Detroit for You: Content, Credibility and Community.'"
Tickets for the Web teleseminar (a value of more than $200) are only $10
for IABC/Detroit members, $20 for nonmembers. Attendees will need to provide
their own lunch and beverage for this "brown bag" luncheon meeting.
Reservations are required and may be made by April 27 by calling
IABC/Detroit's Executive Secretary Nancy Skidmore at (248) 546-5490.
IABC/Detroit is one of the largest chapters of the 13,000-member
