BOSTON, April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholders of Consolidated Natural Gas
Company (NYSE: CNG) today re-elected three directors to three-year terms at
the company's annual meeting.
Re-elected were J.W. Connolly, retired senior vice president and director
of H.J. Heinz Company; George A. Davidson, Jr., chairman of the board and
chief executive officer of CNG since May 1987; and Richard P. Simmons,
chairman, president and chief executive officer of Allegheny Teledyne
Incorporated.
Shareholders also approved the appointment of Price Waterhouse as
independent accountants and approved a shareholder proposal requesting the
Board of Directors either redeem the company's shareholder rights or submit
the shareholder rights plan to a vote.
