Newly Combined Company to Provide Broad Array of Payment Options to
                            Australian Marketplace

    DENVER, April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- First Data Corp. (NYSE: FDC), a
global leader in electronic commerce and payment services, today announced
that it has completed its merger with Cashcard Australia Limited, a leading
electronic payments service provider in the Australian marketplace.  Financial
terms of the transaction were not disclosed.  The combined entity will process
more than 1 billion electronic payment transactions per year and operate over
8,000 ATMs in Australia.

    Under terms of the agreement announced in December 2003, First Data
acquired 100 percent of Cashcard Australia Limited shares.  Cashcard Australia
Limited shareholders voted to approve the acquisition on March 24, 2004.
    Pacific Road Corporate Finance, Sydney advised First Data on the
transaction.  JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs JBWere advised Cashcard on the
transaction.
