Quintiles Appoints Oren Cohen to Senior Vice President, Clinical Research Strategies

    RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Quintiles
Transnational Corp. today announced the appointment of Oren Cohen, M.D. as
Senior Vice President, Clinical Research Strategies.

    Most recently, Cohen held the position of Chief Medical and Scientific
Officer. In his new role, Cohen will be responsible for evaluating and
implementing new clinical research strategies, part of the company's "shape
the future" objective. He also will continue to serve as Managing Director
of Quintiles Public Health and Government Services.

    Cohen is also a Consulting Professor of Medicine at Duke University
School of Medicine. He earned a medical degree from Duke University and
completed his residency at New York Hospital/Cornell University Medical
Center and his fellowship in infectious diseases at the National Institutes
of Health. He is board-certified in internal medicine and infectious
diseases and has written more than 50 scientific articles and book
chapters. He is a fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and
serves as a reviewer for several highly respected medical journals. He has
won numerous awards for his professional achievements and has presented his
work at dozens of conferences around the world.
