The SeleCT Switch For Headsets Named Best Of Show At The Computer Telephony 98
Conference & Exposition Held In Los Angeles In March.
NASHUA, N.H., April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The SeleCT switch from GN
Netcom/Unex has been named Best of Show for the Computer Telephony 98
Conference & Exposition (CTExpo) by Computer Telephony. The show was held in
Los Angeles March 3-5.
The SeleCT switch allows a headset user to move readily from using the
telephone to computer applications. GN Netcom/Unex developed the SeleCT
switch in response to the customer's need to use computer telephony technology
with their existing telephone headsets and to protect future headset
investments as new applications bring voice to the PC workstation. The SeleCT
switch is compatible with all GN Netcom/Unex products, including the wireless
headset, MPA Satellite.
Ingrid Whitehead, managing editor of Computer Telephony, wrote, ". . .
there's good news for general knowledge workers too. . . . the company has
created the SeleCT computer/telephone switch for headsets. With the flick of
a switch, a headset user can move from using the telephone to working with
multimedia, speech recognition, and Voice-over-Internet applications on the
computer."
"Computer telephony applications and headsets naturally complement one
another by letting users type, take notes, or grab a file while speaking and
listening," said David Egenberger, senior product manager for GN Netcom/Unex.
"Not only that, when using speech recognition software with the SeleCT switch,
GN Netcom/Unex headset users benefit from more accurate translation of sound
to words."
