HOUSTON, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Ocean Energy, Inc. (NYSE: OEI) announced
today that Gregory E. Evans has been appointed vice president - exploration,
North America Onshore.
Evans joins Ocean Energy from Burlington Resources, where he served in a
variety of geoscientific and managerial positions since 1982. Most recently
he was based in Houston as chief geophysicist, North America. Evans has
almost 30 years of experience actively working a broad range of major North
American oil and gas basins and has held positions of increasing
responsibility with Louisiana Land & Exploration, Tenneco Oil Company and
Union Oil of California.
A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, Evans holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in geophysical engineering. He is a member of the American
Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of Exploration Geophysicists and
the Houston Geologic Society.
