John Bollinger of 'Bollinger Bands' Fame to Keynote at Events in Phoenix
and Seattle
SAN FRANCISCO, April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Underscoring its
commitment to trader education, Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. will host four
regional Charles Schwab Trading Forums, focusing on the broad investment
and financial needs of investors who trade actively. The first of four
Trading Forums in 2007 will be held on May 3 in Phoenix, Arizona, an event
that has generated a high level of investor interest and already reached
capacity. The additional three events are scheduled for Seattle on June 16
and Chicago and San Jose in the fall. The events are open to all and are
not limited to Schwab clients.
These hands-on, instructional events are the newest element of Schwab's
broad array of education and support services intended to help active
traders sharpen their trading and investing skills, specifically focusing
on strategy development for trading, improving technical analysis skills,
platform usage, stock selection and risk management. The Trading Forums
will provide participants with a unique opportunity to speak with Schwab
and third-party trading experts and test-drive many of Schwab's active
trading services and tools, while also giving them an opportunity to meet
and interact with like- minded active traders in their area.
"Many active traders don't want to go it alone. We frequently hear from
our clients that they want more opportunities to hear from investing
experts and to network with fellow traders," said Schwab Active Trading
Vice President Rich Levine. "These events are specifically designed to
provide clients who actively invest with the resources they need to help
navigate today's volatile markets and to develop a long-term investment
strategy."
During the first two Trading Forums in Phoenix and Seattle, markets
guru John Bollinger will deliver a keynote address on trading opportunities
that exist in today's global markets and how his famed "Bollinger Bands"
can be used to identify buy and sell signals. In addition, attendees can
participate in a variety of break-out sessions, with topics such as how to
add technical analysis to your trading strategy; quick tips on finding
potential trades; and a session with Schwab Director of Derivatives Randy
Frederick entitled "Income Strategies with Options: Covered calls and cash
secured equity puts."
The Charles Schwab Trading Forums will also feature exhibits designed
to educate participants about the full breadth of investing tools and
services available at Schwab. The exhibits will focus on how to diversify
via mutual funds, fixed income and global investing services; how to
maximize cash investments and how to develop a long-term investment plan.
Attendees will also be able to work with Schwab trading specialists to
learn how to make the best use of Schwab's trading and investment products,
research, and options trading tools and services.
In addition to the four regional Trading Forums, Schwab also provides a
variety of in-branch workshops, along with both live and pre-recorded
online classes to meet the education needs of active investors. In 2007,
Schwab plans to conduct more than 1,000 in-branch workshops and more than
500 live, interactive online seminars designed to help active investors
refine their skills. Thus far in 2007, these in-branch and online seminars
have already attracted more than 3,000 attendees.
