Aerojet's Performance Excellence Earns It a Second Boeing 'Supplier of the Year' Award

    SACRAMENTO, Calif., April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aerojet, a
GenCorp (NYSE: GY) company, has again earned The Boeing Company's 'Supplier
of the Year' award for its commitment to superior performance and customer
satisfaction. Aerojet, who also won a Boeing Supplier of the Year award in
2005, was one of 11 companies honored last night for its 2007 performance.

Suppliers of the Year were selected from a pool of 250 Boeing
Performance Excellence Award winners. These companies -- a select group
among Boeing worldwide suppliers -- hold 2007 Boeing Performance Excellence
Awards for achieving silver or gold levels of performance, based on quality
and delivery metrics over a 12-month period. "We are proud to recognize the
performance excellence of our 11 Suppliers of the Year who have
demonstrated that they are the best in the Boeing supply base," said Steve
Schaffer, Boeing enterprise leader of Supplier Management and vice
president and general manager of Supplier Management for Boeing Commercial
Airplanes. "Boeing is committed to rewarding, retaining and developing our
top-performing suppliers who share our focus on first-time quality and
on-time delivery."

Aerojet has been the sole supplier to Boeing for the F-22 Raptor welded
titanium forward booms. The company is also the sole supplier of the
second- stage engines for the Delta II rocket, a program managed by the
United Launch Alliance, a joint venture of Boeing and Lockheed Martin to
deliver payloads into low-Earth orbit. In addition, Aerojet supports the
Focused Lethality Munition program for the U.S. Air Force, the Small
Diameter Bomb program and the HyFly development program for scramjet
engines. "It's an honor for the Aerojet team to receive this award for the
second time from The Boeing Company," said Aerojet President Scott Neish.
"Aerojet uses operational excellence and lean manufacturing to continually
improve the products that we deliver to Boeing. Receiving this award again
is a direct result of these continuing, focused efforts."
