Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond's Community Affairs Office Presents Breaking Barriers to Community Development

    RICHMOND, Va., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Reserve Bank of
Richmond's Community Affairs Office is sponsoring a public meeting entitled
"Breaking Barriers to Community Development." Dan Tatar, assistant vice
president and community affairs officer, will present an overview of the
Federal Reserve's purpose and mission as part of his presentation on the
topic. Carl Neely, a community affairs representative at the Charlotte Branch,
will present major findings of a community profile on the Jacksonville, N.C.-
Metropolitan Statistical Area. The profile includes information from on-site
interviews, Census analyses and economic and lending data, as well as outlines
community development issues and offers strategies for addressing them.
    Also John Meeks, community affairs specialist with the Federal Deposit
Insurance Corp., will introduce financial literacy tools and programs with
"Breaking the Barriers." And Francine Cayruth, chief operating officer of
community development for the 30901 Development Corp., will offer creative
strategies to access and blend capital to complete community development
projects.
