Special Offer for Consumers Recycling Unwanted Cell Phone Equipment
PACIFIC NORTHWEST, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless is
encouraging consumers to commemorate Earth Day by donating unwanted cell
phone equipment at special recycling events to be held at four locations in
the Pacific Northwest this weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For
those donating old equipment and joining in the company's recycling
efforts, Cingular is offering 15% off of any one accessory item at the time
of the donation.
Cingular is the only wireless carrier to partner with the Environmental
Protection Agency in its Plug-in To eCycling Campaign, an effort to
increase the national recycling rate and protect the environment. In 2005,
Cingular collected nearly a quarter million pounds of mobile phones,
batteries, and accessories for reuse, resale and recycling through its
collection programs nationwide.
"We are proud to partner with the EPA and the community to do all we
can to protect our environment," said Mike Maxwell, vice president and
general manager for Cingular Wireless in the Pacific Northwest. "We hope
these events across the Pacific Northwest will serve as a reminder to
everyone that recycling wireless equipment is an easy, painless way to save
our precious resources."
The special recycling events will be held at four Cingular Wireless
stores in the Pacific Northwest this weekend only, April 21, 22 and 23
during business hours.
* Seattle - Northgate Mall
* Spokane - Spokane Valley Mall
* Tri-Cities - Richland, Winco Plaza
* Oregon City - 1900 McLoughlin Blvd.
Consumers may donate unwanted wireless phones, accessories, and
batteries, regardless of the manufacturer or carrier to receive 15% off of
one accessory at the time of donation this weekend.
