Three new Gateway notebooks and one line of desktop PCs deliver aesthetic
enhancements, increased performance, improved usability features and
outstanding craftsmanship. (For specifics, see separate news releases on
Gateway(R) 500 series desktop, and Gateway 200, Gateway 450 and Gateway 600
notebook computers, issued today.)
The sleek designs in platinum with graphite accents will soon be the
mainstay of the entire line of Gateway desktop and notebook PCs. The new look
shared by all of the systems announced today symbolizes Gateway's product
leadership.
Continuing its aggressive marketing campaign, Gateway will support its new
mobile product line with a series of distinctive print and TV ads. Print ads
will appear this week in national newspapers and trade publications, followed
by a series of TV ads. The campaign was created by Gateway's advertising
agency, Siltanen/Keehn of El Segundo, Calif., the team responsible for the
popular series of ads featuring Gateway founder and CEO Ted Waitt and his
talking Holstein cow.
"The eye-catching new design looks great in the home or office and
translates well across the entire line of Gateway computers," said Bart Brown,
Gateway senior vice president, solutions. "However, the great looks are more
than just skin deep. Gateway is leading the industry by delivering high-
quality engineering, outstanding features and the best values."
The new designs offer increased performance and usability to help Gateway
customers get the most out of their products, including ease-of-use features
and improved serviceability. The desktop line was engineered for durability,
incorporating a plastic and metal casing that is twice the thickness of many
standard PC designs.
Comprehensive services such as in-home installation, small business
networking and consulting services, broadband subscriptions, training programs
and financing further distinguish Gateway from its competitors. Visit one of
the Gateway(R) stores nationwide or go to the company's Web site at
