Series of national teleconferences featuring leading fertility health experts
to kick off Fertility LifeLines(TM), a new educational toll-free service
ROCKLAND, Mass., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Serono, Inc., a leader in
reproductive health, announced a series of national teleconferences to mark
the launch of Fertility LifeLines(TM), a free educational service that offers
customized information and support to people with fertility health concerns,
including the estimated 6 million Americans who suffer from infertility.
During the teleconferences, a group of nationally recognized experts will
offer practical tips for dealing with infertility and answers to pre-submitted
caller questions. Moderated by the American Infertility Association, the
teleconferences will take place nightly from May 10 to 12. Registration is
available now through May 9 by calling Fertility LifeLines(TM) toll-free at 1-
866-LETS-TRY (1-866-538-7879).
"About half of the women with impaired fertility don't seek the treatment
they need," says Pam Madsen, Executive Director of the American Infertility
Association. "We know from our research that many women avoid treatment
because they're afraid of disappointment. These teleconferences are a unique
opportunity to address people's concerns by talking openly about the issues in
a comfortable and convenient way." About 70% of patients who are treated for
infertility succeed in having children.
Each teleconference will take place from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm EST:
-- Monday, May 10 - Infertility Treatment: Getting Your Questions
Answered, presented by fertility specialist Richard Scott, MD, Medical
Director, Reproductive Medicine Associates of New Jersey (RMA NJ)
-- Tuesday, May 11 - Your Fertility Journey and the Mind/Body Connection
presented by Alice Domar, PhD, author of "Conquering Infertility" and

-- Wednesday, May 12 - A Couple's Guide to Coping with Infertility

on "Mad About You"
"I've found that many patients benefit from getting information and
support because it helps them cope with infertility in a positive way," says
Dr. Scott. Registrants can submit questions for the experts by logging onto
http://www.seronofertility.com from now through May 9.
