Co-heads Allen, Hagan to lead BB&T Capital Markets' defense, government services unit; Knop to assume new role

    RICHMOND, Va., April 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BB&T Capital Markets
today said that Rick Knop will move from co-head of the firm's defense and
government services unit to a new role supporting the firm's international
investment banking business. The move means that the BB&T Capital Markets |
Windsor Group unit now will be managed by existing co-heads John Allen and
John Hagan.

    Knop has served as one of three co-heads of BB&T Capital Markets |
Windsor Group since 2005 when BB&T Capital Markets acquired middle-market
investment bank Windsor Group LLC of Reston, Va., to boost BB&T's defense
and government services platform. Knop founded Windsor Group in 1992 and
served as its chairman and co-chief executive officer until the merger with
BB&T Capital Markets.

worth more than $4 billion in the defense and government services market
since 2005. Transaction sizes have ranged from $20 million to nearly $1
billion.
