    SAN FRANCISCO, April 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --
CMP Media LLC (Nasdaq: UNEWY) today announced that six major industry
associations have signed up to support electronicaUSA with the Embedded
Systems Conference, which will debut March 29-April 2, 2004 at
Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco. Additionally, 18 industry-leading
companies and associations have joined the advisory board, and 120 exhibitors
have already signed up in the first two days of sales. Created by a strategic
partnership between Messe Muenchen and CMP Media, electronicaUSA with the
Embedded Systems Conference is set to become one of the largest technology and
business gatherings in the United States for the electronics design,
development, and test community.
"The electronics industry does not have a key event in the US that brings
the entire electronics community together," said CMP Media Electronics senior
vice president, Paul Miller. "We are very excited about the amount of
interest that electronicaUSA with the Embedded Systems Conference has already
generated in such a short amount of time. Our aim is to create a forum that
facilitates innovation by spotlighting the latest technologies in a wide
variety of application areas, and that encourages meaningful business
interaction among business managers, technologists, leading vendors, media and
investment bankers."

    Industry Association Support
Six major industry organizations that are lending their support to
electronicaUSA with the Embedded Systems Conference are Electronic Components,
Assemblies and Materials Association (ECA); Electronic Industries Alliance
(EIA); Electronics Representatives Association (ERA); Fabless Semiconductor
Association (FSA); German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association
(ZVEI); and National Electronics Distributors Association (NEDA). Five of
these associations also serve on the advisory board.
"We are committed to supporting this comprehensive event that brings the
electronics industry together," stated Barbara Wortmann, senior vice
president, policy, planning, and industry relations for the Electronic
Industries Alliance. "We feel this event fulfills the need for one vital
industry forum to network, conduct business, and foster key customer
relationships."

    Advisory Board
The electronicaUSA with the Embedded Systems Conference advisory board
comprises thirteen leading companies and five industry associations. Member
companies include Agilent Technologies, Avnet Electronic Marketing, EPCOS,
Infineon Technologies, Motorola, Harting Electronics, National Semiconductor,
Renesas, Rittal, STMicroelectronics, Tyco Electronics, Vishay Intertechnology
and Xilinx. Member organizations include the NEDA, FSA, ERA, ECA, and EIA.

    Strong Exhibitor Interest
In the first two days of exhibit sales, 120 companies have signed up.

Tyco, Agilent, Texas Instruments, and Motorola.

    Strategic Partnership Forms Event

partnership uniting electronica to form a new event that includes an
exhibition, business events and technical conferences showcasing the latest
technologies from varying segments of the electronics industry -- all in one
location. The event will feature technical and business conference sessions
covering a variety of applications. Additionally, the large exhibition area
will be segmented by technology and organized by product type to help
attendees more easily locate products of interest.
