WASHINGTON, April 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Today President Bush announced he
intends to nominate Kevin Martin to be a commissioner of the Federal
Communications Commission for an additional five-year term expiring June
30, 2011.
The following statement may be attributed to Herschel Abbott, vice

"President Bush should be commended for his decision to re-nominate
Kevin Martin for an additional term as chairman of the FCC. During his
tenure as chairman, Kevin Martin has been instrumental in implementing

consumers.
"As chairman, he has brought a sense of urgency to the work of the FCC
