Terra Industries Inc. (NYSE: TRA) announced today that its forward natural
gas purchase contracts at March 31, 2002 fixed prices at $11.8 million below
published forward markets at that date, not $23.4 million as previously
reported. The value of these positions was comprised of $10.6 million for
North American positions and $1.2 million for United Kingdom positions.
Approximately $9.4 million of the North American amount relates to contracts
for the 2002 second quarter.
Terra Industries Inc., with 2001 revenues of $1 billion, is a leading
