COLUMBUS, Ga., April 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aflac Incorporated
today announced that Martin A. Durant III will rejoin Aflac as senior vice
president, corporate finance, on July 1, 2006. In his new position, he will
be heavily involved with Aflac's capital management activities and
strategic financial initiatives. Mr. Durant graduated from the University
of West Florida with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Immediately after
college, he had experience with a venture capital firm and as an accountant
with KPMG/Peat Marwick. He originally joined Aflac in 1990 as vice
president and comptroller of Aflac Incorporated and remained with Aflac for
10 years, during that time being promoted to senior vice president,
corporate services. In 1999, he accepted a position as senior vice
president and CFO of Carmike Cinemas, Inc., from which he retired on April
1, 2006.
Commenting on the announcement, Aflac President and Chief Financial
