PITTSBURGH, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- In preparation of the final phase of
this year's work on the Fort Pitt Bridge project, Brayman Construction Corp.
will make restrictions to the following routes near the northern end of the
West End Bridge from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., beginning Monday, May 1.
-- The left lane of Fontella Street between Sproat Way and Western
Avenue will be closed.
-- The left lane of Ridge Avenue between Fontella Street and Western
Avenue will be closed.
-- The right lane of the ramp from Route 65 North to the West End Bridge
will be restricted.
These restrictions will occur through 6:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, and will
allow Brayman to safely construct temporary ramps on the West End Bridge for
use during Phase II, when the bridge will serve as the primary detour.
Phase II will involve closing the inbound lanes from the Fort Pitt Bridge
to the Fort Duquesne Bridge, Fort Duquesne Boulevard and Tenth Street Bypass.
Access also will be closed during this phase to the Fort Duquesne Bridge from
the Parkway East, Fort Pitt Boulevard, and Commonwealth Place.
Detour signs will be posted to assist commuters during the temporary
