John Daniel Joins Powell Goldstein's Government and Construction Contracts Practice as Of Counsel

    WASHINGTON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy
LLP is pleased to announce that John Daniel has joined the Firm as Of Counsel
to the Firm's government and construction contracts practice.

practitioner of government and construction contracts law, John has a wealth
of experience and deep understanding of energy and environmental issues," said

manufacturers, defense manufacturers, construction suppliers and government

Washington Office. Mr. Daniel has developed effective fee proposal protocols
for the Department of Energy for construction contracts greater than
$1 billion; performed due diligence in successful defense contractor IPO;
conducted internal investigations for environmental and hazardous waste
contractors in response to Department of Justice grand jury subpoenas
regarding alleged bid rigging and price fixing; conducted internal audits for
large energy firms to prove compliance with federal and state regulations and
created government contracts compliance plans for companies.
    From 1981-1983, Mr. Daniel served as the Chief of Staff to the
Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as the agency's
White House Liaison for policy and personnel.
    Mr. Daniel also served as the Chief of the Environmental Law Section of
the Ohio Attorney General's Office where he established the state's
environmental litigation law section and advised the Ohio EPA, the Ohio
Department of Natural Resources and other state agencies on enforcement
actions.
    In addition to authoring numerous books and articles such as "Restrictions
on Investment in the United States by Non-U.S. Investors," and co-authored
"Trends in Contractor Liability for Hazardous Waste Contractors: The Current
Legal Environment", Mr. Daniel is a member of the Dean's Leadership Board of
the University Of Alabama College of Engineering.
    Mr. Daniel received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School
of Law and his Bachelor of Science Civil Engineer degree from the University
of Alabama College of Engineering, and is admitted to practice in the District
of Columbia and Alabama. He was elected a Distinguished Engineering Fellow of
the College of Engineering in 1988 and received the Keith-Woodman Outstanding
Alumnae Award of the College in 1992.
