Racing, Roleplaying and Tactical Combat Games Slated
For Multiplay on Sega's Dreamcast Network
SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Ripcord Games, an innovator in
the interactive entertainment industry, plans to unveil its full line-up of
year 2000 game releases at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3).
Showcasing a diverse collection of games that range from action/fantasy-
adventure to racing to tactical, squad-based combat, Ripcord will deliver a
broad spectrum of titles to satisfy both the single-player and multiplayer
game enthusiast. Additionally, three of the four games to be released for
Dreamcast, Gorkamorka, Quest of the Blade Masters and M.O.U.T 2025, will be
among the first to make use of the Sega's Dreamcast Network -- fully utilizing
the console's online gaming capabilities. Ripcord's E3 line-up includes:
Gorkamorka (Dreamcast and PC), Quest of the Blade Masters (Dreamcast), Spec
Ops: Omega Squad (Dreamcast), Legend of the Blade Masters (Dreamcast and PC),
M.O.U.T. 2025 (Dreamcast and PC) and Spec Ops: Platinum (PC).
"Ripcord Games' recent strategic partnership with Sega has enabled both
companies to claim responsibility for a number of firsts in the electronic
entertainment space," said Lou Viveros, President of Ripcord Games. "In
particular, we're thrilled to be on the forefront of the online console-gaming
revolution, which only raises our enthusiasm even further for an already
incredible line-up. Ripcord Games is definitely looking forward to E3 with
eager anticipation."
The Ripcord Games E3 line-up features ...
Gorkamorka -- October, 2000 -- Dreamcast, PC
A truly interactive experience that combines combat-style RPG with intense
racing action, Gorkamorka immerses players in the world of the Ork "Mobz" from
the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Players must recruit their own Ork Mob and arm
their battle vehicles before setting out on a vicious, battle-filled race
against other Ork Mobz -- either computer-controlled or online against other
players.
Legend of the Blade Masters -- June, 2000 -- Dreamcast, PC
As the very first 3-D action RPG for Dreamcast, the title pits good
against evil in a classic battle of wills as five anarchistic "Guardians" lay
claim to a world engulfed in chaos. As Erik Valdemar, players are faced with
a Herculean task upon encountering a magical blade -- beat the Guardians to
the discovery of the remaining six swords.
Spec Ops: Omega Squad -- June, 2000 -- Dreamcast
Spec Ops: Omega Squad scales new heights in playability as the first and
only tactical squad sim for Dreamcast. Players are sent to command a squad of
the Armed Forces' most elite combat division -- the Green Berets -- in
30 possible missions across the harshest terrain imaginable. Players face-off
against terrorist forces, corrupt governments and life-threatening odds -- all
in a day's work for the most specialized band of covert military operatives in
the free world.
Quest of the Blade Masters -- November, 2000 -- Dreamcast
Like its predecessor, Legend of the Blade Masters, this fantasy/strategy
title seeks to deliver the same excitement found in the original with one
exception -- this time up to eight players, anywhere in the world, can play
together via Sega's Dreamcast Network. Fully immersive environments,
unbelievable graphics combined with white-knuckle online action poise this
release for an unbelievable reception.
M.O.U.T. 2025 -- November, 2000 -- Dreamcast and PC
Based on an actual never-before-seen light infantry strategy, M.O.U.T.
2025, sends players to test themselves in the Army's infamous "Land Warrior"
regiment. Set in brutally realistic industrial, urban and large city
environments, the game provides players with not only the strategic elements
found among the highest-caliber of combat games, but also the tactical aspects
true to actual campaigns in the theater.
Spec Ops: Platinum -- August, 2000 -- PC
This platinum-bundle delivers Spec Ops, Spec Ops 2: Green Berets and all
of the add-ons released to date in one package. It also gives fans of this
groundbreaking squad-based combat game a brand new mission pack containing
25 never before seen missions.
