DALLAS, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Exxon Mobil Corporation and the Volunteer
Center of Dallas County today announced the 75 Dallas-area nonprofit
organizations selected to participate in the 2000 ExxonMobil Community Summer
Jobs Program.
For the tenth consecutive year, the program, funded by ExxonMobil and
administered through the Volunteer Center of Dallas, provides full-time
college students with an eight-week paid internship to assist the selected
organizations and gain experience in a wide range of nonprofit organizations.
This year, ExxonMobil will provide grants totaling more than $175,000 for
interns' salaries and Volunteer Center expenses.
"The ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program has had an enormous impact
on more than 225 agencies in Dallas County. Over the course of ten years,
this program has teamed talented college interns with essential nonprofit
organizations. Together they have strengthened the level of services being
offered to the community," said Julie Thomas, executive director of the
Volunteer Center of Dallas. "As organizations receive needed assistance,
student interns are exposed to one of our city's most valuable assets, our
nonprofit community."
