SAN DIEGO, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway (NYSE: GTW) has named Mike
Hammond senior vice president of Business Process Simplification. Hammond,
who previously served as senior vice president of Manufacturing, will have
overall responsibility for reviewing and improving all Gateway business
processes to ensure complete client satisfaction and organizational
efficiency.
"Mike will be working to change Gateway's business processes, ensuring
that our clients are delighted, our costs are controlled and our employees are
empowered with world-class tools and processes," said Todd Bradley, executive
vice president, Global Operations. "Mike has been a leader in process
improvement at Gateway. In his new role, he will ensure that our new Business
Process Simplification initiative will receive the appropriate senior
management focus and resources required to make it a success."
Jack Dollard has been elected as the new senior vice president of
Manufacturing for Gateway. Dollard will be responsible for Gateway's
manufacturing operations worldwide, including logistics, materials, and
supplier management.

manufacturing processes and overall efficiency," Bradley said. "Both Mike and
Jack have crucial roles in accomplishing this."
Dollard, who brings to Gateway 24 years of manufacturing operations
experience, most recently served as senior vice president of worldwide
manufacturing for QUALCOMM (QCOM) and president of QUALCOMM Personal
Electronics. Prior to joining QUALCOMM, he spent seven years with Toshiba
America, Inc.
Hammond, who co-founded Gateway with Chairman Ted Waitt in 1985, formerly
served as vice president of Gateway Asia-Pacific.
