Anadarko Reports Bossier Well Results

HOUSTON, TX USA
    HOUSTON, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC)
today announced results from one of its field extension wells in the Bossier
Sand Play.  Natural gas volumes from the Blair A-3 well, which began flowing
April 28, are currently selling at a rate of 51.5 million cubic feet per day
at 4,500 psi flowing casing pressure.
    The company's natural gas production from the Bossier Play in East Texas
has increased to more than 195 million cubic feet per day (gross).  Anadarko
is making modifications to its Dew Gathering System to accommodate this
significant rise in production.
    The Blair A-3 well, located in the Dew Field of Freestone County, Texas,
was spudded on March 6 and reached total depth of 12,885 feet on April 13.
Perforation and fracture stimulation operations commenced on April 26.  The
company has an 82.5% working interest in the well, with El Paso Production
Company owning the remaining 17.5%.
    Anadarko has 21 rigs in operation throughout its East Texas Bossier Play.
