President Bush Names Health Fitness Corp. CEO Jerry Noyce as Member of President's Council on Fitness and Sports

MINNEAPOLIS, MN UNITED STATES
    MINNEAPOLIS, May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- President George W. Bush has
appointed Jerry V. Noyce, CEO and President of Health Fitness Corporation
(HFC) based here, as a member of the President's Council of Sports and
Fitness.

    The White House Office of Communications announced the President's
intention to appoint Noyce on April 27th. His appointment will become
effective May 6th and he, along with 19 other presidential appointees to
the Council, will attend the group's first meeting in Washington DC later
this week
    Joining Noyce to serve two year terms on the President's Council on
Fitness and Sports will be such sports notables as 1984 Olympic women's
gymnastic Gold Medal winner Mary Lou Retton, top rated American
professional tennis player Andy Roddick, New York Giants pro football
quarterback Eli Manning, fitness gurus and video and TV stars Denise Austin
and Donna Richardson Joyner.
    President Bush also named another prominent Minnesotan, Dr. Edward R.
Laskowski, professor of medicine and rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic in
Rochester, to the Council.
    Noyce has more than 25 years of management experience in the health and
fitness industry. The publicly held company he heads is the nation's
largest provider of fitness and health management services to corporations,
hospitals and communities. HFC provides fitness and health management
services to more than 400 on-site and remote locations across the U.S. and
Canada.
    "It is an enormous honor to be selected by the President to serve my
country in the Council's all-out effort to improve the health and wellness
of all Americans, especially of our children," Noyce said. "In today's
environment of spiraling health care costs, and where we must make more
progress in the three front battle against obesity, smoking and physical

to be a very active participant in helping my colleagues on the Council to
do what we can and must to accelerate our progress in this battle."
