This year's tournament will be held at the Summer Grove Golf Club, 353
Summer Grove Parkway in Newnan Georgia. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with

Proceeds from the event will benefit the James K. Davis Scholarship
Fund. Davis, a retired Georgia Power executive and longtime member of AABE,
died on December 12, 2005.
The Atlanta Chapter of AABE was founded in 1982 by Davis, who retired
from Georgia Power in 2003 after 31 years of service. He joined the company
in 1972 as a minority recruiter and worked in human resources, community
and economic development and corporate relations.
Davis was well-known for maintaining relationships with community
leaders, groups and ordinary people, often asking them to understand
Georgia Power's issues and carry forth its message.
"Jim was a strong supporter of higher education and was always seeking
ways for young people to achieve their academic goals," said Lamont
Houston, Georgia Power's senior vice president of customer service and
sales and one of the honorary chairs for this year's tournament. "The
scholarships provided by AABE's Atlanta chapter provide deserving metro
Atlanta high school students with financial assistance to pursue advanced
degrees that will lead to successful careers in the energy industry."
Robert L. Brown, Jr., president and CEO of R.L. Brown & Associates,
Inc., and a Georgia Power board member, along with Felker Ward, President
of Pinnacle Investments and an AGL Resources board member will co-chair the
event with Houston.
Registration fees for the golf outing are $125 per person and $600 per
team (four members). For more details or to register, please call Tangela
Martin at 770-603-5372.
