LEXINGTON, Mass., May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
(NYSE: RTNA, RTNB) today disclosed that it will provide to the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC) information about its former engineering and
construction business. The company received yesterday afternoon a subpoena
from the SEC to provide the information. The inquiry does not suggest that
Raytheon has violated any law or regulation.
The company sold its engineering and construction business to Washington
Group International (WGI) in July 2000.
"We will respond to the SEC's questions and supply whatever information is
requested," said Raytheon Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Daniel P.
Burnham. "We have made extensive disclosures regarding Raytheon Engineers &
Constructors and its disposition to WGI and believe that our policies and
practices are in compliance with all regulations and laws."
