Visteon Corporation Names Ryder as Top Supplier

    MIAMI, May 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ryder System, Inc. (NYSE: R), a
global leader in transportation and supply chain management solutions,
today announced it was named "Global Visteon Important Partner of the Year
2005" by Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) for exemplifying "Best in Class"
performance and year-over-year consistent performance.

    The Visteon Important Partner (VIP) program is a global program that
was first established in 2001. Winners are selected by Visteon's global
materials management team, with input from Visteon's global product groups
including purchasing, quality, product development and manufacturing.
Selection criteria are focused on supplier performance in terms of quality,
delivery, value, technical capability and customer service. Award
recipients must achieve 100 percent concurrence across all customer
functions and operating regions to confirm that they have demonstrated the
high level of performance that Visteon promotes within its supply base.
Supplier awards were granted for the following areas: metals, non-metals,
non-production goods and services, electronics, transportation and local
supplier of the year.
