    ST. LOUIS, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Emerson
Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR) today declared the regular quarterly cash dividend
twenty-nine and one-half cents ($0.295) per share of common stock payable
June 10, 1998 to stockholders of record May 15, 1998.
