Engineering, customer-support facility in Wroclaw, Poland, to open in mid-2005
ANDERSON, Ind., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Remy International, Inc., will
support its aggressive growth and significant demand for the Delco Remy(R)
brand within European markets with a new product technology and customer
service center in Wroclaw, Poland. The state-of-the-art facility is scheduled
to open in mid-2005.
Remy and the Delco Remy brand are leading choices of a growing number of
global and regional businesses in the automotive, small-engine, commercial
truck, industrial, agricultural, construction, marine, and hybrid-systems
categories.
The European facility will feature a full complement of on-site
engineering, purchasing, supplier development, product validation and other
operations serving the company's growing number of automotive, heavy duty and
industrial customers. Key product research, engineering and technical support
services will focus on Delco Remy starting motors and alternators, as well as
hybrid systems and DC motors, according to Rick Huibregtse, vice president of
engineering for Remy.
"This addition and redeployment of existing resources will allow our
global engineering team to respond to the rapidly changing needs of our
European customers through continued innovation within our current product
families and expansion into new product categories," Huibregtse said. "Our
significant investment in regional technical centers underscores our
commitment to offering truly world-class support in all markets and product
areas."
Wroclaw was chosen for the European center due to its strong and growing
base of technical resources, Huibregtse added.
In addition to the new European center, Remy is launching a customer
service and technical center to serve the Asia-Pacific region. The company
also operates advanced research, engineering and customer service facilities
in the United States.
