HOUSTON, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Proserv Crane and Equipment of Houston
announced it has completed its purchase of Anchor Crane and Hoist in a
transaction that has created the largest independent overhead crane
manufacturing company in the Southwest and one of the largest in the US.
Proserv purchased Dallas-based Anchor Crane and Hoist from RPC Oil and Gas
Services Company (NYSE: RES), headquartered in Atlanta. The new company will
be called Proserv Anchor Crane Group.
"This acquisition fits perfectly with our plan to expand our operations,"
said Neal Wilson, president of the expanded company. "Anchor has been around
since 1969, and between us, we have built well over 13,000 overhead cranes.
Our combined operations now employ over 100 people, with manufacturing
continuing in Houston and Irving, and additional parts and service from our
facility in San Antonio."
Gary Stein, CEO of Triple-S Steel and Chairman of Proserv, said, "We are
very proud of the operation Neal has built since 1988, and we look forward to
many years of success in North Texas with our new acquisition. The 114,000-
square-foot Irving plant gives us many new opportunities to expand
manufacturing and distribution in that part of the state."
The combined company will produce overhead cranes with capacities ranging
from one-half ton to 250 tons and offers customers round-the-clock parts and
service. The cranes, which are shipped worldwide, are produced in accordance
with CMAA specifications.
