CARLSBAD, Calif., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Callaway Golf Company (NYSE: ELY)
today announced the appointment of Mike Haynes to the position of Vice
President, Recreational Golf Development, effective immediately. Haynes will
report directly to Chuck Yash, Senior Executive Vice President, Growth in
Golf. Haynes has been working with Yash in the Company's "Grow the Game"
initiative since January of this year.
"Mike will be an integral part of Callaway Golf's effort to grow the game
of golf," said Yash. "He has a real passion for the game, is very creative
and has great connections in the golf world. He will help us find new and
innovative ways to expose more non-golfers to the game he loves."
Haynes has been with Callaway Golf since 1994, most recently in a key
capacity in the Company's licensing department. In his new position, Haynes
will work to increase golf awareness among potential golfers, working with
established golf organizations like the First Tee and exploring other avenues
to grow the game. Prior to joining Callaway Golf, Haynes enjoyed a
hall-of-fame college and professional football career, starring as a defensive
back at Arizona State University, and later for the New England Patriots and
Oakland Raiders.
