WASHINGTON, May 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today, FRC Action, the
legislative advocacy arm of the Family Research Council endorsed Jim Ryun
representing the 2nd Congressional District of Kansas.
"When looking at his opponent in both the primary and the general
elections, it is very clear that Jim Ryun is a true friend of the family,"
said David Nammo, Executive Director of FRC Action. "Additionally, he won
the FRC Action True Blue Award five consecutive times while in Congress."
While in Congress, Jim Ryun co-sponsored the Marriage Protection Act,
the Right to Life Act, the Human Cloning Prohibition Act, the Religious
Freedom Amendment, the Make Marriage Tax Relief Permanent Act and the Death
Tax Repeal Permanency Act.
In comparison, Lynn Jenkins largely supports abortion rights, except
for late-term abortions, according to the Politico newspaper. She also
received $5,000 from the pro-abortion group, the Republican Majority for
Choice PAC; and she received $4,100 in donations and in-kind contributions
from the WISH List PAC, which works to elect pro-abortion Republican women.
"You do not receive that much money from pro-abortion groups without
being pro-abortion," Nammo said. "By contrast, while in Congress, Ryun
sponsored legislation that protected life and the family as well as the
family's pocketbook. He is the clear choice in this race and why we are
pleased to endorse him for Congress."
