Waste Industries USA, Inc. Announces Five Acquisitions

    RALEIGH, N.C., May 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Waste Industries USA,
Inc. (Nasdaq: WWIN), a regional, non-hazardous solid waste services
company, today announced the acquisition of five hauling operations through
April 30, 2006 that are expected to add approximately $4,000,000 in
annualized revenues.
    The company acquired certain assets and customers of Advanced Disposal
Services, LLC in the west Atlanta suburbs. In addition, the company
acquired the assets and customers of Erwin Sanitation, Inc. and
Environmental Waste, Inc., also in the west Atlanta suburbs. All of these
operations will tuck into the company's Atlanta West operation and the
waste will be internalized into its Grady Road landfill.
    The company acquired residential customers of Harrison Sanitation
Solutions, Inc. in eastern North Carolina. The customers will tuck into the
company's Rocky Mount and Wilson operations.
    The company also acquired the assets and customers of Upstate Waste,
Inc., a private residential waste hauler that operates primarily in the
Greenville County, South Carolina market. This operation will tuck into the
company's Greenville/Spartanburg operations.
