Sequel to 1998's Smash-Hit Metal Gear Solid
To Be Showcased at E3 2000, Booth 624, South Hall
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Konami of America today
announced "Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty," set to take the gaming world
by storm when it launches in the Fall of 2001 on PlayStation2. The original
"Metal Gear Solid" made its debut on the PlayStation game console in November
of 1998 and became an instant classic, selling over four million units
worldwide.
A video trailer featuring specially selected scenes from "Metal Gear Solid
2" will give this year's E3 attendees a rare glimpse of the highly anticipated
game. The screenings will be held at the Konami booth, #624 South Hall,
beginning at noon on Thursday, May 11, with screenings on the hour throughout
the remainder of E3.
"'Metal Gear Solid 2' is poised to exceed what anyone could ever have
expected from the next chapter in the Metal Gear saga," said Chris Mike, Vice
President of Marketing for Konami. "The strength of the Metal Gear franchise
and its planned debut on the next-generation PlayStation2 console will combine
to make this game an interactive force to contend with."
