Ripcord's 'Friend or Foe: The Police Training Simulator' for All Major DVD
Platforms to Emerge From AIS' State-of-the-Art PRISim Training System
LOS ANGELES, May 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Ripcord Games(TM) will conduct private
previews for key press and analysts of the mobile Professional Range
Instruction Simulator (PRISim) from Advanced Interactive Systems' (AIS) at the
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), May 11-13, booth #800, South Hall. AIS's
PRISim will serve as the conceptual and content basis for an entertainment
software product now in design for a 2001 release. The working title for the
project, to be co-produced by Ripcord and AIS, is "Friend or Foe: The Police
Training Simulator."
About PRISim
AIS's PRISim is designed to effectively prepare law enforcement personnel
to react appropriately in a variety of volatile, life-threatening situations,
while saving their own lives, those of fellow officers and innocent
bystanders. PRISim is the only simulator on the market that offers a wide
variety of state-of-the-art features for training in use-of-force judgement,
such as:
-- ShootBack(TM) cannon fires a .68 caliber nylon ball projectile
-- Use real weapons, modified to fire "safe" AirMunition non-lethal rounds
-- Non-tethered weapons allow full freedom of movement and reaction
-- Option to use live ammunition
-- Designed to maximize the instructor's focus on training
Private Concept Demo
Due to the high-end nature of PRISim -- as well as the seriousness of the
invaluable training it provides thousands of law-enforcement officers -- it is
on display solely for private demonstration to select visitors of Ripcord's
booth (#800) on the show floor. Visitors should note that since content used
in PRISim is the actual content used for police training, the final consumer
product will be altered so as not to cause any risk to officers on the street.
While content itself may be adapted, the proprietary technology and video-
handling capabilities of PRISim will serve as the backbone for the consumer
product-intended for all current and emerging interactive DVD platforms.
