R. Berger, today announced that Matthew P. Goodman has joined the company as
Vice President, further strengthening the firm's unparalleled Asia team.

For the past two years, Matthew Goodman served as Director for Asian
Economic Affairs at the White House's National Security Council and previously
led Goldman Sachs' government affairs operations in Tokyo and London,
following a decade with the U.S. Treasury Department.

Fluent in Japanese, Matthew Goodman began his professional career as
financial journalist in Tokyo in 1983. He received a Master of Arts degree
from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies and
a Bachelor of Science degree from the London School of Economics and Political
Science.
