TD Waterhouse Institutional Bolsters Its Sales Team; Appoints Derek J. Bruton Senior Vice President and Head of Sales

  -- Five Key Sales Professionals Covering the Northeast and Western Regions

    NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- TD Waterhouse Institutional Services, a
leading provider of custodial and brokerage services to independent investment
advisors, today announced a significant expansion of its sales team with the
appointment of Derek J. Bruton as Senior Vice President and National Sales
Manager, as well as the addition of a Regional Sales Vice President and four
Vice Presidents of Sales.

further strengthen the sales organization by adding five accomplished sales
individuals, bringing our sales team to 40 professionals.  These new hires,
combined with our existing team, put us well on our way to building a group of
sales professionals that is second to none."

    Derek J. Bruton, SVP
    Bruton brings 13 years of extensive experience in investment management
sales and leadership.  He most recently served as Director of Money Manager
Services (MMS) at Merrill Lynch & Co.  In his new role, Bruton will report to
Bradley and be a member of his senior management team.  His primary
responsibility will be overall sales and business development for the TD
Waterhouse Independent Advisor Services business.  Bruton worked at Merrill
Lynch from 2001 through 2005, presiding over Merrill's institutional custody
and trading businesses for Registered Investment Advisors.  He directly
managed the business development, service and operations, and product
development areas for MMS.  During the four years he presided over the
business, Bruton executed several new technology and service enhancements,
which helped to elevate their business to record levels.  From 1994 to 2001,
Bruton served in various sales and sales management positions with Charles
Schwab Institutional.  During this period, he managed top-performing sales
teams in both Northern California and New York.

    The other appointments, which represent over 50 years of combined
experience, are as follows:

    Western Regional Sales Vice President
     * Jay W. Penn joins as Regional Vice President and manager of the Pacific
       Region Sales Team after 7 years of success as Fidelity Registered
       Investment Advisor Group's Regional VP of Sales in Northern California
       and Oregon.  Prior to joining Fidelity, Penn was the chief operating
       officer of a $1 billion investment advisor firm in Dallas, Texas.  Penn
       is a Certified Public Accountant and holds two bachelor degrees from
       the University of Oklahoma.

    Sales Vice Presidents
     * Eric D. Warlick joins as Vice President of Sales based in Portland,
       Oregon, after 6 years as a Sales VP for Fidelity in the Northwest.
     * David A. Caffrey, Vice President of Sales in New York, joins after 2
       years at Fidelity.  Prior to Fidelity, he spent 4 years as National
       Sales Manager for Trust Company of America.
     * Frank J. Pizzichillo returns to TD Waterhouse Institutional following
       6 years at Fidelity.  He joins as Vice President of Sales, based in
       Philadelphia, PA.
     * Paul S. Polese joins as Vice President of Sales for the Northeast
       Region following 2 years as a VP of Sales at Pershing's Investment
       Management Services division.  His experience includes 6 years as a
       portfolio manager at Pinnacle Associates, a New York-based investment
       management firm.
