Attendees Will Be the First to Experience the Multiplayer Game Grid at the
Buena Vista Games Booth, Number 924, South Hall
BURBANK, Calif., May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Buena Vista Interactive, the core
games publishing label of Buena Vista Games, Inc., today announced the
unveiling of multiplayer light cycle racing for TRON 2.0 at this year's
Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Show attendees will have the chance to
challenge one another on the Light Cycle LAN Circuit as they race on their
choice of classic or new light cycles, both designed by Syd Mead, world famous
concept designer, at Buena Vista Games' booth, number 924, South Hall.
Bringing to life one of the most memorable scenes from the TRON film, TRON
2.0 will allow up to eight players to compete individually or on a team in
Light Cycle multiplayer mode. Gamers can experience the rush of high-speed
racing on a variety of Grid Arenas in either first- or third-person as they
attempt to have opponents run into obstacles, walls and light cycle trails.
Adding to the excitement is the ability to acquire power-ups, including the
shield, turbo boost, missile, trail spike, turbo curse, grab, trail reset,
force use, trail extender and random, to outlast the competition on the Game
Grid.
TRON 2.0 also features single-player light cycle gameplay in four enormous
story-based levels, as well as compete against game bots in 16 light cycle
"circuits" in Light Cycle single-player mode. Players who successfully
complete two "circuits," each consisting of two to five races, will unlock
power-ups, as well as different light cycle types and colors, allowing them
access to new "circuits."
"Multiplayer light cycles has been the number one most requested feature
for TRON 2.0," said Bob Picunko, director of marketing, Buena Vista
Interactive. "I'm pleased to announce we're able to offer this innovative and
addictive feature in the game, in addition to the action-packed multiplayer
Disc Arenas."
In development by critically acclaimed Monolith Productions, TRON 2.0 is
an action-packed story-driven title inspired by TRON, the groundbreaking
science-fiction motion picture. The game takes place in present day,
approximately 20 years after the events of the film. Playing as Jet Bradley,
son of ENCOM programmer Alan Bradley from the movie, gamers are digitized into
cyberspace and will race on light cycles, battle corruption both inside and
outside of the computer world, and explore locations including the Internet
Hub, Firewall, Corrupted Server and Light Cycle Game Grid.
