MIDLAND, Mich., May 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aloysius J. Oliver,
Chairman of Chemical Financial Corporation (Nasdaq: CHFC), announced that the
Board of Directors approved the following officer promotions at its regular
meeting held on April 21, 2003: Tari E. Detzler, 1st Vice President, Director
of Loan Services; Kenneth W. Johnson, 1st Vice President, Director of Branch
Administration; Kimberlee R. Butcher, Vice President, Employee Benefits; Cleo
Hugo, Manager, Accounting Services, and Michelle M. Pilaske, Executive
Assistant to the President & CEO.
Ms. Detzler has been with Chemical Bank since 1981. During her tenure,
she has spent a majority of her time in residential lending, serving as
Department Manager at Chemical Bank and Trust Company, Bay City from 1987
until 1998 when she transferred to Midland to serve as Vice President and
Department Head of Residential Mortgage Lending. In 2000, she was promoted to
Senior Vice President. In 2001, Ms. Detzler's employment transferred to
Chemical Financial Corporation when she was named Vice President and Director
of Loan Services. Ms. Detzler is a 1998 recipient of the Princess Wenonah
Award in conjunction with the YWCA of Bay County, 1994 Realtor Affiliate of
the Year, Bay County, and has served as a Loaned Executive for the United Way
of Midland County.
Mr. Johnson is a 1985 graduate of Michigan State University with a
Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. He joined the staff of
Shoreline Bank, now Chemical Bank Shoreline, in January 1995 serving as Vice
President and North Region Sales Manager. In 1999, he was promoted to 1st
Vice President and Branch Administrator and in 2000 was again promoted to
Senior Vice President and Head of Retail Banking Operations. Mr. Johnson will
be transferring to the Corporation from Chemical Bank Shoreline to coordinate
the delivery of services through our 129 branch offices. He is current
Chairman and Treasurer of the South Haven Industrial Fund, Board President of
the Greater South Haven Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of the South Haven
YMCA, and a member of the South Haven Rotary Club.
Ms. Butcher is a graduate of Spring Arbor University with a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Management of Human Resources and a graduate of the MBA School
of Human Resource Management. She joined Chemical Bank & Trust Company,
Midland, in 1984 working in various areas of the bank before joining Human
Resources in 1987. She was promoted to Assistant Cashier in 1988, Assistant
Vice President in 1991, and named Vice President and Human Resources
Department Head in 1997. In 2001, Ms. Butcher's employment transferred to the
Corporation when she was named Assistant Vice President, Employee Benefits.
She is also past Vice President of Education for the Northeastern Michigan
Chapter of the American Institute of Banking and a former Loaned Executive for
the United Way of Midland County.
Ms. Hugo is a graduate of Ateneo de Davao, Philippines, with a Bachelor of
Science degree in Accounting. She joined Chemical Bank & Trust Company, Bay
City, in 1996 working as a teller until she was promoted to Controller in
1999. In 2001, her employment transferred to the Corporation when she became
a supervisor in the Loan Service Center.
Ms. Pilaske is a 1997 graduate of Central Michigan University. She began
working for Chemical Bank & Trust Company, Midland, in 1993 as a part time
employee while attending school and upon graduation joined the Bank full time
as a Management Trainee. In 1999, Pilaske transferred to Branch
Administration and was named Assistant Cashier and Administrative Assistant to
the President & CEO in 2001. In January 2002 Ms. Pilaske's employment
transferred to the Corporation where she is Executive Assistant to the
President & CEO.
