Digital Television Debuts in Southern California
GLENDALE, Calif., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- HDTV ... Almost everyone's heard
about High Definition Television but very few people have actually seen it.
WOW! Multimedia Superstore, a combination of The good guys! and Tower Records,
will be one of the very first stores in the nation to premier HDTV. The
special previewing is in conjunction with the store's Grand Opening weekend
-- May 15 - 17.
One of WOW!'s many spectacular features is its 75 square foot HDTV Video
Wall -- where customers will see HDTV's incredible picture quality. This huge
wall will create the country's first and largest high definition television
wall. Made up of twelve 30-inch monitors, it is configured in the new HDTV
standard 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio. The new WOW! MultiMedia Superstore is
one of the only stores in the nation that has HDTV capabilities today and can
present full resolution HDTV programming.
While HDTV products aren't available for purchase yet, they are expected
to be introduced in the Fall. WOW! MultiMedia Superstores and The good guys!
will be one of the first retail stores to carry the technology. For nearly
25 years, The good guys! has prided itself on offering customers the latest in
audio, video and home office electronics.
WOW! stores offer the most diverse selection of audio, video and home
office hardware, as well as CDs, magazines and books. The new Glendale store
is located at 142 South Brand Blvd.
