Oxford Health Plans, Inc. (NYSE: OHP) opened a new office in Mount Laurel,
N.J., to support Oxford's growth initiatives in the mid-Atlantic region.
Oxford has currently staffed this office with 13 sales and medical delivery
systems employees, and anticipates adding five more staff members by year-end.
"Oxford is committed to expanding its geographic reach beyond its core
service area into the mid-Atlantic region, including southern New Jersey and
the Philadelphia metro-area," said Kevin Hill, executive vice president of
sales and business strategy. "Opening an office in southern New Jersey will
make it easier to grow our provider network and strengthen our relationships
with brokers and employers to better respond to the unique healthcare coverage
needs of consumers in this marketplace."
Working with Equis Corporation, Oxford's internal real estate and
corporate services department brokered the lease deal with Brandywine Realty.
Oxford will use this office to support brokers and customers in Ocean,
Burlington, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, Salem and Gloucester counties in
N.J., Delaware, and the Philadelphia metro-area. Mount Laurel is one of two
Oxford offices in New Jersey. The company also has an office in Iselin, which
services clients in central and northern New Jersey.
Founded in 1984, Oxford Health Plans (http://www.oxfordhealth.com) provides
health plans to employers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, through its
direct sales force and through independent insurance agents and brokers.
Oxford's services include traditional health maintenance organizations, point-
of-service plans, third-party administration of employer-funded benefit plans
and Medicare+Choice plans.
