SAN FRANCISCO, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Mallinckrodt Inc. (NYSE: MKG) today
announced that the company has received FDA approval to market its
OxiFirst(TM) fetal oxygen monitoring system in the United States. The OxiFirst
system is the world's first solution for continuous, direct monitoring of
fetal oxygen status during labor and delivery.
The company will officially launch the system at a press conference
scheduled for 10:30 AM (PST) on May 18, 2000 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in San
Francisco. The press conference will feature three of the leading
obstetricians in the United States who participated in the randomized, multi-
center clinical trial of fetal oxygen monitoring technology, as well as one of
the developers of the technology.
