A Live and Televised Event to Premiere on G4 This Summer
LOS ANGELES, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- G4(R), the Comcast-owned TV network
about video games and the gamer lifestyle, today announced the final nominees
for its first "Glow Awards(TM)," the video game award portion of the network's
G-Phoria(TM), an annual location-based and televised mega-event celebrating
the massive entertainment phenomenon of video games. The announcement was
made by G4 Founder and CEO Charles Hirschhorn.
"The votes are in, and we congratulate the finalists of G4's first Glow
Awards. We are grateful to our nominating committee and the many talented
creators of video games who contributed to the selection process and who made
G4's first year on the air such a success. Now it's up to G4 viewers and game
fans to decide which games of the last 12 months were their favorites and
helped them to 'Achieve the Glow.'"
The Glow Awards Nominating Committee, comprised of video game industry
leaders, top gaming and entertainment journalists, and celebrities who are
also gamers, selected the top five games across 23 categories such as "Game of
the Year," "Best Cinematic" and "Hottest Character." Final winners will be
chosen by game fans who may vote by visiting http://www.g4tv.com . On Thursday and
Friday, May 15 and 16, they can also stop by G4's "Gamer 4 Life" kiosk located
at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in the Los Angeles Convention
Center's West Hall Lobby to cast their ballots. Games released between March

Topping the final nominee list was Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which
earned finalist status in 12 categories. Animal Crossing, Battlefield 1942,
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Metroid Prime are finalists in the coveted
"Game of the Year" category. As part of the G-Phoria Glow Awards, EB Games, a
leading specialty retailer of video games and accessories, is presenting the
