    Each year MAXIM chooses 100 of the hottest women of the year in film,
television, music, sports and fashion.  Editors are given the daunting task of
choosing which of these women are the hottest and who everyone will be talking
about for the next year.  General Manager Andy Clerkson says of this year's
top 10, "The easy part was giving the top spot to Christina Aguilera -- our
readers voted her #1 with their record-breaking support of her Maxim cover
last January.  Christina's issue is the best selling edition of Maxim ever
with 2.8 million copies.  The rest of the competition was hot, so hot it set
off sprinkler's in our building."
    The Hot 100 has always been a good indicator of who will make a splash on
pop culture in the coming year. After launching one of the most successful TV
shows of the season, MAXIM chose Jennifer Garner as the Hottest Woman in 2002.
This year's Hot 100 ranks Jennifer Garner at #11, no surprise after starring
in hit films like Daredevil, Catch Me If You Can and the upcoming 13 Going on
30.  Last year, MAXIM first brought such stars to our attention as Elisha
Cuthbert who MAXIM placed on the Hot 100 at #94 (Now #9) and Sarah Wynter #70
(Now #12) when "24" was a brand new show and Shakira at #15 (Now #8) when she
was just beginning to heat up stages in the U.S.
    Women in music dominate this year's Hot 100.  Christina Aguilera (#1),
Shania Twain (#2), Shakira (#8), t.A.T.u. (#10), Gwen Stefani (#15), Ashanti

Mya (#31) are just a few of the successful female artists that grace this
year's list.

cover.  An hour long Hot 100 special will air on NBC on Saturday, June 14th at
9 PM.  This special will feature interviews with Shania Twain, LeAnn Rimes,
Giselle Bundchen, Bernie Mac, Christina Aguilera and a special performance by
Mya.
